Harassment: questioning validity

There were early references, with remarks like “that’s his story”, and later references, with what I think were hints by one Lisa, likely done with good intentions, on the nature of lies and lying. I am happy to respond and can be relatively brief, and will illustrate with an example. There have been plenty of “hints” and after a while and the stress of the constant false, directed attacks and false accusations, it is sometimes difficult to properly distinguish between well-intentioned comments and malicious engagement. This is also a comment I made a few years ago, as there were other well-intentioned posts, that I have undoubtedly misunderstood because of the sheer ridiculousness of the situation.

Lies or truth?

So, are these posts lies? No, they are most definitely not lies. They are best effort attempts at accurately figuring out the truth behind a large campaign of harassment and abuse, that ultimately resulted in some 2+ years of harassment on-the-job followed by some 7+ years of (on-going) harassment and abuse around my home, that was set up with clear malicious purposes.

To comment on another matter: the messy, non-chronological order. There are reasons for this:

  1. I originally chose the initial two posts for impact and clarity.
  2. I have had a difficult time trying to figure out the reason behind the many malicious intentions, in part because of the copious amounts of lies. I waited for years to respond in any serious capacity, despite the constant on-going harassment and abuse, because I simply did not understand the attacks, and in all this time the attacks never ceased.
  3. I try to write about the matters I have clarity on, and some parts I figured out only weeks ago. I’ll give one such example further below.

The harassment on the job had clear indicators of retaliation for copious amounts of lies and false accusations, with some people making all but direct accusations and others speaking of “attacks will continue until …”. The malicious practices were fabricated in such a way that everyone happily engaged in harassment and these abusive practices prior to having proper proof of me having even done wrong, and in other cases “rich speculation” with (extreme) prejudice on all the “bad intentions”. Furthermore, there were plenty of rights violations, which the people involved seem to happily ignore.

Example case

As an example of an attack, people have, literally for almost a decade now, threatened me with and actively trying to accomplish “reporting me to the authorities for doing bad things because I did so with some earlier employer”, i.e. in support of and retaliation for this company. This false accusation, among some but not all others, have clear indications of religious involvement. This is a condensed version of events.

The false accusation is such that “I supposedly reported a certain employer to the Dutch investigative services for IRS”, with malicious or opportunistic intentions.

As mentioned earlier, it is sometimes hard to figure out what exactly happened. It is a lot easier to fabricate false accusations to attack me over, than it is for me to figure out what really happened and give an accurate representation. I figured out some missing pieces only in last few weeks, while the attacks have been ongoing for easily 10+ years. This is due to having to figure out how some suspicious pieces fall in place while not being fully informed on (malicious) actions by other actors.

In my current understanding, the developments went as follows. I intend to write about this in more detail, but it serves as a good illustration of the difficulty.

Before joining employer there were some negotiations. As a part of these negotiations, I mentioned that I still maintained some small sys-admin tasks with very small companies, of the kind that just started and cannot afford full-blown IT automation department support. This was aligned and fine. I maintained these from the time when I was doing my studies.

Now I join this company, and they organized some courses. During some initial courses, there (“coincidentally”) also were some visiting police officers following courses. I didn’t think anything of it. At the time some discussion happened around a topic of ambiguity in modeling diagrams. More on this in another post, but ambiguity has been abused on several occasions in recent harassment and abuse.

Some half a year later, I am in discussion with my manager concerning a supposedly necessary course for which I have contradicting information. They insist that this course is needed, and that I need to accrue additional debt for taking this course. A course that is taught within the company, with their own means, as part of a professional education entity that is part of their business. I decide to make a phone-call for legal counsel, an idea of my parents at the time, and this person explains to me that their demands are illegal due to the company immediately benefiting from the supposedly necessary course. I am gathering my thoughts and some 5-10 minutes later, I get a phone-call with undisclosed phone-number, of someone claiming to be from this investigative services of the Dutch IRS. They had understood the situation and would contact my employer. The phone-call only lasted some 12 seconds or so, and I did not share any information. Then later, somewhat after leaving, one meet-up with former colleagues one of which I think is also the son of a police officer, hinted at “this will go on for some time”. So, malicious actions were likely already initiated around this time.

Now, for the longest time I was confused about what actually triggered this phone-call. In hindsight, the answer is obvious, but it wasn’t until weeks ago. In the mean time, I have been under massive amounts of attacks for some 10+ years for supposedly “being the bad person” without me even understanding what was going. What had happened is most likely the following, and I believe I have heard (indirect) confirmation of this series of events: employer had reported me for illegal sys-admin work at the authorities from the start. The visiting police were likely supposed to be a hint. Because of the same reason, authorities had been listening in on my phone-call to legal counsel and overheard of the illegal situation I was being coerced into. I also, truthfully, mentioned that my words were twisted on several occasions, because I challenged their request only because I did not want to accrue additional debt. They misrepresented this on several occasions as “refusing to follow courses and/or do work”, which is probably more beneficial in attacks and deceptive actions against me.

So, I got attacked for “being the asshole calling the authorities down on this company”, while I merely tried to acquire some information on how to handle an abusive situation.

As an aside, I have more recently been harassed repeatedly for years, with references to this ambiguity, on the supposed reporting and supposed illegal work. I contacted the legal counsel and they ensure me that they have no policy of doing such a thing. I also later got attacked based on refs to this sys-admin work.

Validity

As for the validity of these posts. They’re the best I can do to disclose these abusive situations, manipulative and deceptive actions and circumstances. It is hard, because of the ridiculous amounts of lies, false accusations and staged bullshit that is involved. I will undoubtedly be wrong on small matters, details in the complete course of events.

As for possibility of misinterpreting events: I have waited for a long time such that I can observe the attacks and compare with previous events I know to have happened. I have tried my best to work from factual data and known events, and for years have taken very much care in trying to piece together the circumstances based on that information. It is why it has taken this long for me to respond.

Why?

I write about this because it is beyond any doubt that there are organized efforts involved. Even if it cannot directly help me, it still helps to have these stories available as a resource for other people, that they know these kinds of attacks and long-running engagement happen.
